Welcome to Flower Hill
We are currently closed for tours.
Thank you for reaching out to schedule a tour of the Flower Hill Urban Homestead Museum!
We are looking forward to hosting you at the homestead soon. In February, a major restoration project is set to get underway here at Flower Hill. We will be getting a brand-new roof! We are hopeful that the project will be completed by early March.
Until then, we hope you will enjoy and explore some of our virtual tours and experiences on the website.
No walk-ups — You must reserve and pay online first.
Tours will be offered Thursday-Saturday at 10 AM by appointment only.
Groups are limited to 10 people or less.
Tour guides and guests are required to wear masks.
Guests will respect social distance and maintain a 6-foot distance from each other.
When you are at Flower Hill, please follow these rules to ensure the safety of our staff and community:
If you are sick, please stay home.
Limit touch! There are plenty of things to hear, see, and smell!
Leave 6 feet of space between you and others.
Wear face masks at all times to protect yourself, other guests, and our staff.
Please wash your hands, refrain from touching your face, and use hand sanitizer often. Hand sanitizer will be provided on the front porch of the museum.

Parking and Museum Entrance
Limited parking is available for free on the museum grounds, accessible via W. 6th Street between Winflo and Pressler Street. Alternative parking will be detailed in the confirmation email sent to guests prior to their tour.
Our primary entrance is via the front door (under the columns). ADA access is available via the east entrance, alongside the driveway. Tours begin by the historic rose arbor on the east side of the home.
Select first floor historic rooms and exhibits are wheelchair accessible. Architectural and preservation concerns prevent us from being able to provide elevator service to second floor rooms; however, interpretive materials are available upon request for exhibits, displays, and the grounds. If you have any questions or concerns about accessibility, do not hesitate to contact us.
Flower Hill is located 5 minutes from central downtown Austin, just a few blocks west of the Lamar and W. 6th intersection.
Our main gate entrance is tucked back from W. 6th street between Winflo and Pressler on the north side of the street.
1316 W. 6th Street 78703
Please note, the driveway is historic and very narrow. Wide vehicles and vehicles with little ground clearance may scrape on the historic drive, so please use caution as you navigate through the iron gate entrance.
The driveway and the on-site parking are only open to those who have made an appointment to tour the museum.
We encourage carpooling or rideshare to visit our site. The Cap Metro 6th and Pressler stop is right in front of our property. We also have bike racks on site to support our bike commuters.
Not at this time.
We offer tours at discounted rates and outside our regular hours to groups from 6-30 people by prior reservation and can tailor our tours and activities to suit your group’s interests and schedule.
We especially welcome small school classes and homeschool groups. Please send your class tour request to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about the reservation process and available dates. We offer admission for $5 per student with no additional charge for teachers, staff, and parents serving as chaperones.
All other groups are encouraged to contact us at least three weeks before their preferred tour date to confirm availability. We offer admission for adult group guided-tours for $10 per person.
